YouTube was created February 4 2005 by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. The three of them new each other from working at the same internet start up Paypal. In fact Hurley created the logo to Paypal. In 2006 Google bought YouTube for 1.65 billion dollars in stocks just 18 months after YouTube was created. Karin got $66 million from YouTube. Just 3 months after it was created they had 3 million visitors.YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google. Most of the views that they got were the ages of 12-17, 44% female and 56% male.

The name 'YouTube' and the motto 'Broadcast Yourself' reflected on the founders witch caused people to want to use the site freely. In 2007 many teachers started to use YouTube so they can do their lessons through video. The first band that had ever hit the most subscribers was a rock band called Smosh. YouTube broadcast about 1/3 of the U.S. multimedia entertainment. In September a Brazilian soccer player with the video called "Touch of Gold"became the first video that was viewed 1 million times.

By 2010 it would take 1,700 years to watch ever single video on YouTube. In 2006 when YouTube was  bought by Google they started to lose money at the rate of $500,000 a month, because of ads. In 2013 YouTube had more than 72 uploads per minute. Therefore there as been people who posted a lot of videos a day or week. Over 4 billion hours of videos are viewed every month. In 2009 HD was released and was able for people for people view videos. YouTube has 800 million+
monthly unique visitors witch is more than the whole population of Europe. BBC reported that YouTube sends about about 72 billion emails.

YouTube wanted attractive girls to post on there 10 or more videos and was offering $100 to them. People say that the success was do to key features. The key features are 1.) Video recommendations also know as "related videos" 2.) email link to enable video sharing 3.) Comments also other social medias (facebook and twitter) 4.) to embeddable video player.  in 2010 YouTube was fourth in most visited website behind Google, Facebook, and Yahoo. Since April 1, 2008 YouTube has featured April Fools pranks. In May 2007  the video "Charlie Bit My Finger" was uploaded and got 500 million views .

If a YouTube user receives three copyright strikes then their account gets suspended and all videos that have been posted are removed. If the account is suspended then they can NOT make a new account. Several companies have sewed YouTube because they think that they can't prevent copyright. People think that the comments that are on YouTube make you  think about humanity and what we have in-stored for our future. YouTube has give many people oppertunittys that you wouldn't get to do unless you have the money. Many events are connected with YouTube such as Vidcon, DigiTour, and many more. YouTube does give people things you thought of having. The tings YouTube does is amazing. There has been people who have been posting YouTube videos since 2009 and still do it today because they love what they do.

Singers now a days get to get their videos out the way the do because of YouTube. They get to make a song and get paid from the people who view their videos. People who do YouTube do get paid and the do get to do things you never thought about. People get well know from just posting a YouTube video. Some examples are IISuperwomanII, Zollea, The Janoskians, and others. If you spend some time on there you can find people who are so funny. Not only do people who post funny videos there's also people who post things about videos games. New upcoming artists. Lots of people such as Austin Mahone started on YouTube. This is an impact on many peoples lifes and they get to do things they would never expect. YouTube is an amazing thing.
